Western Regional Sales Manager-Remote

Join a highly innovative CPG and Ingredient Manufacturer that is hiring a Western Regional Sales Manager for its fast-growing Industrial Ingredient Sales Division. This position is responsible for managing sales for the Western United States. 

The company produces products made with simple and clean ingredients. The ingredient division’s unique line of high-performance powders are quickly becoming the go-to for flavoring systems for many of North America’s largest food and beverage companies. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Become deeply knowledgeable of product lines and service benefits and how they compare to other industry offerings
  • Meet with current customers to discuss their evolving needs, uncover opportunities and present product solutions
  • Prospect for new account opportunities through the help of brokers, existing database, personal research/relationships and incoming inquiries
  • Work with management and brokers to develop and execute key account strategies that focus on product and application
  • Collaborate with management and brokers to develop sales objectives, project volumes and establish quotas for territories and overall region
  • Provide input on how to improve existing sales procedures, new product launches and account management
  • Maintain ongoing technical and professional knowledge of our products, services and industry by participating in trainings, reviewing professional publications joining and establishing personal networks

 Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred, ideally in business, communications, marketing or military background
  • 5+ years in Food and Industrial Ingredients Sales, flavors or supplements
  • Working knowledge of the Food Ingredient Market
  • Strong understanding of basic industry regulatory procedures (i.e., specifications, labeling, certifications)
  • Experience in Research and Development helpful
  • Broker management is a plus
  • Proven history of success in building a territory, networks and relationships
  • Need to have an open minded and flexible mindset
  • Self-motivated/self-starter
  • Experienced in sales planning and account management
  • Consultative selling (Uncovering “pain” and providing solutions)
  • Experience in budget development and meeting sales quotas
  • Competency in Microsoft Office/Utilizing CRM software
  • Remote location Mid-West or Western United States
