Our client, a dominate player in the Specialty Food Distribution space, is seeking a dynamic leader to manage all aspects of their Sales and Marketing teams as Director of Sales & Marketing.

The Director of Sales and Marketing is primarily responsible for developing and executing the company sales plan by division, including financial expectations and marketing plans. The role manages a team of divisional sales managers that cross from Club, Branded Retail, Foodservice and the Private Label Retail business. They will lead the team in execution on all marketing and sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 5-6 divisional sales managers, customer service team, product development and an in-house graphic artist
  • Responsibilities include forecasting, budgeting, product innovation, customer/channel development and other key projects
  • Lead annual planning process including developing budget/quota and marketing plan
  • Analyze and evaluate key industry trends and implement appropriate internal actions
  • Drive sales through creation and management of new opportunities
  • Represent company with presence at key customer meetings and corporate presentations
  • Ensure alignment with purchasing team on all strategies and new item development
  • Participate in improving corporate process and practices
  • Possible key account responsibility

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 10 Years Foodservice, CPG/Retail Grocery, and Management experience
  • Solid understanding of Private Label and Branded Retail Grocery Industry, Food Service, customers and practices
  • Proven ability to see the big picture and ability to establish and articulate strategic direction
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management skills, data analysis and budget management
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing and analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of P&L/balance sheet
  • Outgoing, positive personality with the ability to create a dynamic team experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with keen ability to communicate
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%
  • Position is located in Seattle, WA
