National Retail/Foodservice Sales Manager

Our client, a leader in Food Manufacturing, is seeking an experienced and dynamic National Retail/Foodservice Sales Manager.  The company is growth-oriented and business driven to exceed customers’ expectations by practicing servant leadership, exceptional service, and continuous progress.  The position is remote and located preferably in the Midwest to Eastern half of the U.S.

The National Retail/Foodservice Sales Manager is responsible for achieving assigned product sales volume and profit objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate sales programs, promotions, and marketing events through the Regional Sales Mangers, Brokers, and Direct, as well as, at selective corporate and distributor group accounts
  • Build a sales strategy and develop tactical plans to execute, manage, and achieve budgeted sales goals
  • Assist Marketing in planning and execution of company goals
  • Establish and nurture relationships, which motivate brokers and direct customers to strengthen brand and private label business
  • Educate and train brokers to effectively operate company software to present new items and develop individual customer action plans
  • Manage account-specific forecasts, and product mix to maximize customer profitability
  • Conduct periodic broker and customer business review to maximize growth and profits while staying within budgets
  • Analyze, monitor, and report changes in the marketplace (customer, broker, products, and competition)
  • Develop opportunities in the alternate channels of business (C-Store, Mass, etc.)
  • Develop and manage International Market opportunities while overseeing the Export Business Unit
  • Manage customer trade spend activity, marketing monies, deductions, etc.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of Retail Grocery, as well as, Foodservice Sales experience in the Food and Beverage Industry required
  • Bachelor’s Degree, BS or BA, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in the Deli segment of the Grocery, as well as , Convenience Store segment preferred
  • Working knowledge of Retail, Club, and Mass formats, as well as, Distribution Channels
  • Demonstrated success and working understanding of Branded and Private label programs
  • 3+ years’ experience working with Grocery Center Store category teams, as well as, Deli and Prepared Foods
  • Understanding of category management and supply chain perspectives
  • Proven success managing broker networks
  • Proven experience translating syndicated data and market trends to support sales presentations
  • Ability to independently prepare and present category review and new items to category management
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Must be relationship-driven with strong interpersonal, analytical and presentation skill
  • Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
  • Sound judgement and high moral standards
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be willing to travel approximately 50%

Salary Range:

$110,000-$140,000 per year
