Key Account Manager-Foodservice/CPG

Are you looking to join a leader in the Seafood and Protein Industry? Our client, prides themselves in providing the healthiest proteins in the industry.  They are currently seeking a Key Account Manager located preferably in Seattle, Portland or in other selected cities in the Western United States.

The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing sales and customer projects for their Foodservice and Retail accounts.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build account profiles and service customers while strengthening the image and distribution of company products and brands
  • Be a role model in projecting and applying company philosophy and promote teamwork at all times
  • Manage and maintain account base
  • Identify and sell new National/Key Foodservice accounts (Ex. regional/national chains, distributors, redistributors and group purchasing organizations)
  • Increase sales through the placement of additional line items
  • Identify and generate new key customers, while increasing demand in existing accounts
  • Conduct new item presentations in a professional manner
  • Learn and operate the weekly bids systems within AS400
  • Achieve volume and margin plans, as well as, other goals
  • Responsible for fixing margin and sales issues within certain existing accounts as instructed by Sales Manager
  • Project/forecast category sales and margin for annual budget plan
  • Communicate all relevant enhancements to promotions, programs, policies and procedures in a timely manner to the respective accounts
  • Monitor Food Service sales activities and relate the information to the appropriate manager
  • Assist with related marketing programs, as needed
  • Assist in determining customer needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years Foodservice Sales experience preferably in the Seafood/Protein Industry
  • Retail experience in protein sales a plus (Ideal candidate has experience in both foodservice and retail protein sales)
  • Working knowledge of both fresh and frozen protein products required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership/People management skills a must
  • Ability to present a financial/business acumen at all times
  • Strong strategic/consultive selling and negotiation skills a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
  • Knowledge of order processing systems
  • Bilingual English and Spanish helpful
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
  • Position is preferably located in Seattle, Portland or other selected cities in the Western United States
